There were only three sets in the great final of the World League 2013. Muserskiy and Pavlov destroyed Brazil and led their team to the gold medal.

Brazil started from the big strike 5:0. However, after a break for Voronkov, Russia catched up quickly with attack. Wallace made a mistake on the wing and there was a tie 7:7. After blocking Dante, Russia gained a lead, which was enlarged till the second TTO (16:13). Lucarelli spiked block-out. Brazil was close to the opponent a few times, but Russia could always run away one point more. This set had also a lot of extended actions with great defence from both sides. Lucarelli gave a lead in the end (21:20), but the game was taugh till the last second. Russia had the first setball, but they made a use out of their second chance and won this part.

Brazilians began the second set from their own mistakes. Wallace was stopped by Spiridonov and Russians had 4:2 lead which was followed by two more won actions.A minute later Muserskiy was blocked, but he made up for that right away. Sivozhelez got blocked in the middle and Brazil managed to reduce this loss. On the second TTO Russia had a leverage 16:11. Brazil tried to get some chances back, but Russians already drove away too far. Muserskiy was killing from the middle and Pavlov offered an impressive efficiency from the wing. It was a highway to victory in this set.

In this last set Brazil was quickly dominated (8:2). Canarinhos continued to make more mistakes. With the great deal of Pavlov’s attacks, Russia gained the lead safe enough to simply have fun and show up the great strenght. Russia had the advantage 16:10 on the second TTO and there was no turning back – they got golden one more time!
