FIVB World champions Brazil suffered two shock defeats at the hands of Germany last weekend just one week before they prepare to defend their crown in Italy. “Our game was really good“, said Germany coach R. Lozano.

The 2010 FIVB World League champions suffered a 3-2 and a 3-0 defeat to the Germans but came away with a 3-1 win in the second match.

I don´t look on the results, I take a look on our game,” Germany coach Raul Lozano said. “And this was really good.

Unfortunately for Germany it wasn’t all good news as middleblocker Stefan Hübner suffered a knee injury which rules him out of the tournament, which runs from September 25-October 10. He is replaced by youngster Lukas Bauer.

Brazil will face Spain, Cuba and Tunisia in Pool B of the World Championships while Germany battle Serbia, Poland and Canada.
