FIVB announces new world volleyball ranking court and Brazilian national volleyball team remains isolated in the lead, ahead of rivals.

The Federation International de Volleyball (FIVB) announced the updated classification of the world ranking. According to the latest results, the selections have gained or lost positions. Brazil, however, is sovereign.  The green-yellow national team is at the top of the ranking. The Olympic Champions from the United States appear in the second place.

The new classification provides a new system of scoring. The results for more than two years are worth half of the initial value, while recent titles were added to the full score.

The first seven teams maintained their positions. Brazil, silver medal in the Beijing Games, is first with 223 points. Second place occupy the United States, which defeated the Brazilian team in the Chinese capital, with 198 points. Russia is the third best, with 185 points.
