Argentine wing spiker was transferred to G.A.S Pamvochaikos from Greece for the next season and talked about his new experience.
Mariano Giustiniano confirmed his transfer to Greek A1 League in 2013/2014 season, to a club which is strengthening its team in order to win the Hellenic championship. Former player of Sarmiento in Argentine League, Giustiniano is one of foreign players in the roster, with Serbian Zoran Jovanovic and Brazilian Leonardo Lopes Caldeira.
The 190cm player, born in Buenos Aires, is very anxious and commented: “I’m ready to work hard and give back the confidence they put on me. Hope we get good results; I’ll bring all my strength to reach the top. Maybe it’s soon to talk about purposes, but I’m sure that if we work as a team, we will achieve as much as we seek”.
The 27 years-old player leaves Sarmiento, his last team after a long career that includes seasons in Buenos Aires United, Boca Juniors, Misiones Volley, Rosario Sonder, Chubut Volley and Scholem, where he was formed in. His success in Argentine League let him be a member of National Team, and play more than a hundred matches (also in last World Championship). One of his best performances was during Pan-American Cup 2010 so he demonstrates the coach he was ready for new challenges. Weber called him again for World Cup, World League and Panamerican Games in 2011; and World League 2012.
Warned about the fans of Pamvochaikos, the outside hitter said: “I know they have very special fans. They always fill the stadium and also go when the team is away. I would like them to know I’ll give my best everyday. Hope they enjoy our game because I’m sure that their support will be very important in this season too”.
G.A.S Pamvochaikos was main character of the last Hellenic League, reaching the second place in a dramatic final series against the champion Olympiakos. It represents the city of Lamia, the capital of the regional unit of Phtiotis at Central Greece.
