In the classical duel between Cuneo and Trento this time dominated the Italian Champions. Even without the biggest stars…

Cuneo started with Grbic, Vissotto, Wijsmans, Ngapeth, Fortunato, Mastrangelo   and Henno (L), on the other side of the net noticeable absence of Kaziyski, Juantorena, Stokr and Raphael, who apparently got a match of rest before the next weekend’s Final Four of Champions League (played in Łódź, Poland). But these substitutions did not aggravate the game of the team, moreover, showed that even playing with “the second six”, Trento is dangerous and able to win with everyone. The Sunday’s game, in front of over 4.000 people, was very tied and both teams played on a high level and good efficiency.

It’s enough to refer to the statistics: in the first set in attack Wout Wijsmans had 100% of efficiency, Leandro Vissotto scored 7 points with 78%. Another 100% efficiency in positive reception of Hubert Henno. In the second set Vissotto improve his game and attacked with 100% of efficiency. Tsvetan Sokolov shined in the third set, scoring 12 points with 92%. Summing up, the best player of Cuneo, Vissotto, ended with 35 points scored and 72% in attack. Helped him Earvin Ngapeth (14) and Wijsmans (12). Trento answered with a great performance of the Bulgarian rising star, Sokolov, titled the MVP of the match (33 points and 62% in attack) with Filippo Lanza (15), Mitar Djuric and Steve Brinkman (both 12).

After this weekend Itas Diatec Trentino leads in the classification with 61 points and 3 rounds before the end of the regular season is sure to get promoted to play-offs from the first place. Cuneo has 49 points and occupies the third position.

No surprises in other matches: Macerata wins in 3 sets over Padova; Vibo Valentia beats Verona 3-1; in Latina Casa Modena wins in tie-break; bitter defeat 0-3 of Ravenna in Rome; victory 3-1 of Sisley Belluno over Piacenza and important win of San Giustino over Monza Brianza.
