Cuneo qualified to the league final in game 4 against Treviso. On V-Day, May 9th, Cuneo will meet Trentino, which qualified at the expense of Macerata.

LUBE BANCA MARCHE MACERATA – ITAS DIATEC TRENTINO 2:3
Trentino sealed the deal against Macerata, wining at the tie-break away from home. The encounter had a lot in common with game 2, with all its twists and turns, but this time De Giorgi’s team seemed to have things under control. After a first set dominated by Kaziyski and Juantorena, Macerata started to hurt their opponent with their serve to cancel out a 6-point deficit in the second set and clinch it on an Ormcen ace. The serve was key in this game, for both teams. In the third, Trento’s reception really struggled against Omrcen (2 aces for him, 4 for the team). Stoytchev sent all his starters on the bench to give them a rest ahead of the following set but Macerata dictated things again, with Cisolla standing out. Macerata was 22-18 up, with game 5 really close. But Kaziyski (MVP with 18 points, 2 aces) had other ideas. His series on the serve sent Trento right back in it, tied at 22. In the final rush, another ace, from Sala, made the difference. The tie-break was all Trentino’s.
Trento can now focus on the Champions League Final Four, to take place in Lodz, Poland, on Saturday and Sunday.

Matey Kaziyski (Itas Diatec Trentino): “We seemed doomed to lose it, but somehow we got back in it. Credit to everyone in the team, not only the serve, because it’s my teammates that allowed me to serve in that situation. We all believed in it. It’s great to finish the series here, now we can concentrate on Lodz’s Final Four, which is around the corner”.

SISLEY TREVISO – BRE BANCA LANNUTTI CUNEO 1:3
Treviso built a slight lead (16-13) in the first set but Cuneo tied it at 24 thanks to Parodi and Mastrangelo. The guests snatched it 27-29. The second set was a carbon copy until 22 all. Fei’s attack out and Nikolov’s point meant Cuneo went 2-0 up. Led by Maruotti and Ricardo, Treviso got back in the game in the third set. That’s when Wijsmans took over and led his team to V-Day.

Nikola Grbic (Bre Banca Lannutti Cuneo): “I am proud of the team, today and in the whole series we defeated a team that played its best volley. It’s been a series played at a top level and we did a great job of keeping things under control and qualify to the final. We had reasons to worry before the game, Cuneo had never beaten Treviso in the playoffs in the past, but numbers do not matter and we proved it. Now we’ll face Trento in the final, another great series, we’ll be ready for it”.
