Dinamo Tattransgaz Kazan conquered Copra Volley Piacenza in the final of Champions League. Kazan claimed 3:2 victory in front of the fantastic polish spectators. 

 

 

CEV Cup and Challenge cup gained Italian teams. It would be a great success for Italian volleyball if Piacenza could won also Champions League. But the most prestige European Cup is the hands of Russian team. From the begging of the finals both teams played great volleyball with many rallies. Piacenza won first set easy. In the second set the Italian team was leading 24:22 with good opportunity to finish the set, but block of A. Egorchev stopped Frantz Granvorka and two good attacks of C. Stanley finished the set in favour of Kazan. This was the key moment of the match. Piacenza played without real opposite, the most loaded spiker was H. Zlatanov, Kazan relied on C. Stanley, S.Tetyukhin and both middleblockers (Bogomolov and Egorchev). At the end it was the Russian team who demonstrate more calm and efficient perfomance. It is the first time that Kazan is celebrating victory in the Champions League.

Bronze medal rest in Poland. Belchatow started well against Treviso, substitution of setter P. Pujol resuscite the game of Italian team in third set. In the fifth set Belchatow showed more fighting spirit and S. Antiga terminated the second matchball.
