The hosts led initially 2:0 in the set count and after a mighty comeback of the French guys, CSKA eventually seized the night in a dramatic tie-break. Coach Popov smiled: “To me it does not matter whether the final score is a 3:0 or a 3:2 because this is our first victory in the CEV Indesit Champions League”.

Zenit KAZAN of Russia outclassed Unicaja ALMERIA in Spain with American Clayton Stanley topping the charts with 18 points. With his killing services he totally destroyed the reception of the Spaniards. Russian head coach Vladimir Alekno added: “We had no surprises tonight, they played pretty well but we were simply better”.

Lube Banca Marche MACERATA defeated tonight Budvanska Rivijera BUDVA 3:1. Best scorers of the match were both Miloš Culafic and Igor Omrcen with 26 point each.
