No big surprise in the second day of the French league: both Cannes and Mulhouse scored straight sets victories on Friday evening. Juliann Faucette (Cannes) was by far the best scorer of the French Riviera derby – 23 points (25-17, 25-14, 25-18). A sweet victory for RC Cannes against the eternal rivals of Le Cannet which came exactly on the day their captain, Victoria Ravva, was celebrating her 39th anniversary.

The other game of the day brought Mulhouse an easy home victory against Vannes (25-17, 25-14, 25-18) which set them on the first position, one set away from RC Cannes.

On Saturday evening Paris St Cloud continued their magnificent performance with a rewarding win over Venelles (25-18, 25-20, 25-13). One week away from stealing one set from former champion, RC Cannes, St Cloud claimed a clear victory. The season has barely started, but the early results forecast an extremely interesting and thrilling season ahead.

The Angels of Beziers took over Hainaut (21-25, 18-25, 20-25), and stats are looking bad for Valenciennes – last position after the second game of the season. St-Raphaël scored their first victory this season against Terville Florange. Final score: 1-3 (25-27, 25-23, 22-25, 22-25). Young Astrid Souply finished the game as best scorer – 19 points.
