After a victory over Argentina, Poland became the first team of the Hubert Jerzy Wagner´s memorial

It was the weekend of volleyball in Zielona Gora, Poland. During the last day, Iran lost with Germany and Poland won over Argentina. Both games were quick and lasted only three sets each. German head coach surprised everyone with his squad, because he put Jochen Schoeps as a receiver, not spiker.

However, Schoops did well in this new position. Andrea Anastasi also mixed and changed his team during this tournament in order to try different variants of the game. For Julio Velasco and Iran this international season is over, as they did not manage to qualify for the Olympics. Although they showed good, strong volleyball, they didn’t won any game in the Memorial. Finally, Javier Weber has something to worry about – his team obviously has problems with their quality of the game and it does not look good for London.
