Big sensation in Polish Cup. Resovia Rzeszow beat actual champion and joined the best four teams of this tournament.
Before and after Christmas, we saw 4 quarterfinal duels. Quarter-finals brought some unexpected results. First of all, polish vice-champion won with Skra Belchatow 3:0. This meant that Resovia had to get one more set and they will take a part in final, will be played in Bydgoszcz. The second match was fill od fantastic game, but only… in two parts. Second set ended up happily to Rzeszow and Skra could say "goodbye" to their one of a few targets of this season.

Delecta Bydgoszcz and Siatkarz Wielun also fought a hard battle. Suprisly, Wielun won first match 3:1. It was a big danger for players of Delecta and the hosts of final too. The team knew they couldn’t loose this chance. With the new libero, Olympic champion, Richard Lambourne, and MVP od European Champion, Piotr Gruszka, they arrived to Wielun and didn’t leave their rivals any hope. Anyway, Pamapol Siatkarz deserved congratulations.

The rest of matches was totally predictable. Jastrzebski Wegiel quickly beat AZS Olsztyn. ZAKSA Kedzierzyn had no problems with victory over lower-league team, MOS Bedzin.

Next, 23-24 of January, the winners will do everything to get Polish Cup. This trophy gives a place in the next edition of Champions League. The second polish team will have to win PlusLiga to start thinking of the prestigious European Cup.
