The CEV Champions League is always a very important competition and we think it is a good opportunity to demonstrate the constant competitiveness of the Italian league“, said head coach of Trentino Radostin Stoytchev

The first opponent of titleholder TRENTINO BetClic will be Germany’s VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, with a home match on schedule for next November 17. The defending champions were drawn in a very difficult pool featuring also PGE Skra BELCHATOW of Poland and Romania’s Remat ZALAU.

The team trained again by Radostin Stoytchev is ready to start their third adventure in the CEV Champions League after having claimed the trophy for two years in a row. To continue to stand out in Europe, during this past summer TRENTINO BetClic reinforced the team, by signing Czech opposite Jan Stokr to replace Leandro Vissotto. The main strengths of the team are still the spikers, namely Bulgarian Matey Kaziyski and Cuban Osmany Juantorena, MVP of the last final four in Lodz.

I’ve often heard that the best leagues in Europe are the Russian and the Polish ones but our double victory displays that the best Volleyball is still played in the Italian Serie A1. A hard task is waiting for us because this year’s calendar is very packed and we noticed that foreign teams play against us at 120% of their potential and not under a particular pressure. By the way we are ready to face this challenge”, commented Radostin Stoytchev

The European season starts early this year and offers us very popular opponents – said the captain Matey Kaziyski – and to confirm our dominant role will be increasingly difficult but I would give anything to feel again the excitement and joy of last year at the time of our victory”.
