Russia became the only one team which won until now all their games in volleyball World League 2011. Germany an Bulgaria shared their points.
Not much to say – Russia did not lost even a single set this weekend. Japanese players made a lot of simple mistakes. The best Russian scorer was Denis Biriukov, who gained 15 points in every match. The team of Wladimir Alekno is now one of the strongest favorites in whole World League tournament. They got the leading in their group and with this form – they won’t give it back for sure. Even Brazil lost one match until now (with USA). Russia impresses with an effective game and they have big chances to win in Final Eight in Poland.
Meetings of the second duo brought us more emotions. Although Germany won the first and the second part rather confident, Bulgaria paid off the same. Tie break was the most exciting set. It was the wonderful day of Tsvetan Sokolov. He scored 33 points, including 29 attacks. But even his game was not enough to win with the hosts. Bulgaria lost 2:3, but they won on the next day. Their last game was hard, but Bulgarian team was strongly determined and with help of Kazijski and Sokolov, they won for three points.
