In Czestochowa, Zaksa beat Jastrzebski Wegiel during semi-finals and won over Asseco Resovia Rzeszow during the great final of Polish Cup 2013.

 

At the beginning of the match, Castellani made a surprising decision by replacing Rouzier with Dominik Witczak. Resovia started this game a little better and Zaksa made some mistakes. Witczak, Fonteles and Bartman failed on service. Zaksa cached up at 4:4, but Resovia was better in defense and they took a lead at the first technical time out 8:6. Witczak was blocked by Achrem. Lukasz Wisniewski score one point in service. Barman gave Asseco another lead 13:10. Tichacek played a lot through the middle blockers and it was 16:11 for Resovia during the second TTO. They kept going this path for the rest of the first set. Extremely long action was closed by Bartman and there was no other way – Polish champion took a lead in the whole final 1:0

 

Rouzier was back for the second set. Zaksa improved their attack, but Resovia also kept  a good block. Thanks to Michal Ruciak, Kedzierzyn scored 8th point and at that point they started to build their leverage to the point of 13:8. Bartman lost his efficiency and was substituted by Jochen Schoeps. Zaksa was doing only better by strong service and finished this part quickly 25:18.

 

Resovia did not loose their confidence after this defeat. Thanks to block they was 5 points ahead at the beginning of this part (8:3). They also won another action,but then Zagumny played through Wisniewski with success. Zaksa worked nicely with their block and reduced this loss to result 10:12 and 13:14. Lotman missed his spike and we had a tie. Michal Ruciak did a good job on service again. Rouzier was blocked by Achrem and Kosok. Zaksa gained a stronger leverage (22:19). Fonteles was killing on the wing and soon it was 2:1 for Zaksa in the final game of Polish Cup.

 

The 4th part started with the leading of Resovia 4:2 and then Castellani took a break. Apparently it worked, as Zaksa welcomed the first TTO with the leverage on one point. Kovacevic showed up on the court. Zaksa built a safe lead (13:9). Michal Ruciak spiked for the 16’th point and called the second TTO (16:13). Resovia got close at the end, but Zaksa didn’t let go and won Polish Cup of the season 2012/2013.
