In the last round of Plus Liga we had a lot of emotions. Delecta did great and with huge help of Stephane Antiga stopped Asseco Resovia.
Resovia Rzeszow came to Bydgoszcz to meet with Delecta. The guests were more expected to win and they wanted to score all three points for this game. Unfortunately for them, this match lasted for 5 sets. Bydgoszcz was leading 2:1, but Resovia has managed to win the next part. In tie break Delecta made use out of many mistakes of their rival and finally they won 3:2 and kept 2 points. Now Delecta Bydgoszcz is a quite strong team and they can play with everyone. The crucial part of this team is definitely Stephane Antiga. He is the one who is both sport and mental leader and he also got the MVP award for the last game.
We had one more tie break in Warszawa. AZS Czestochowa lost with the host team 2:3 and now they are taking 7th position in ranking, but AZS Warszawa is still behind them, although the difference is only one point. Damian Wojtaszek, the libero of Warszawa said after the game: “We did our better and worse today, but we are not perfect. Now we have to focus on eliminate mistakes. Czestochowa also made some of them and that is what we could use to our advantage”
All fans were waiting for the game between Jastrzebski Wegiel and Zaksa Kedzierzyn. Zaksa still doesn’t have their full squad to use and Jastrzebie was playing with to men which were back after injuries – Zbigniew Bartman and Michal Lasko. For Bartman it was not a good start and he was quickly replaced. On the other side, two players had to deal with other position than their own. Jiri Popelka played opposite and Dominik Witczak was this time a middle blocker. Although Jastrzebie had some chances, Zaksa was strongly better that day and they won 3:0. MVP was Michal Ruciak, but it was also a good game of Wojciech Kazimierczak (middle blocker), who scored altogether 12 points and gained 88% of efficiency!
In this round Skra also won for 3 points with AZS Olsztyn (3:1) and in the last match finished with the same result – Fart Kielce beat Trefl Gdansk.
