Yesterday we were watching wonderful volleyball show in Pool A. Bulgaria guided by Tsvetan Sokolov won against Poland in four sets.

We didn’t expected this result of second polish game. Today Anastasi’s team was beaten by really great Bulgarians. Hero of this game is common known – it’s opposite hitter, Tsvetan Sokolov. He scored 28 points (24 spikes and 4 blocks) with 54% efficiency.

We needed to beat Poland especially since we had lost all of our previous matches against this team – he said just a few minutes after game – Today you have seen a different Bulgaria.

There were another good points of Bulgarian team too. One of them is Teodor Todorov with his 7 points.

We were very motivated before the start of this match and even though I have been nursing an injury, I feel very good but I still need some more time to be back in my best shape.

Coach of Bulgarians in years 2010-2012, Radostin Stoytchev decided to leave national team after he had qualified to Olympic Games, because he had a conflict with Bulgarian Volleyball Federation. Now, he is replaced by Nayden Naydenov who had really hard thing to do – prepare big team for Olympic after all this politic show. Their captain, Vladimir Nikolov is really happy about current situation of his team and new coach.

I am really proud that in this moment of chaos, with coaches coming and going, we’re showing our character. This is something which fits very well to the nature and spirit of Bulgarian people – he commented on press conference.

Poland – Bulgaria 1:3 (22:25, 27:29, 25:13, 23:25)
