In our team there’s a great atmosphere, we fight for every ball – says Nikola Rosić. Serbian libero added that although in the World League they play against tough opponents, they don’t look for the other, focusing only on their game.

How would you assess those two matches against Poland?

Nikola Rosić: – First I must say that  there was a very nice atmosphere. It’s always great to play here, with all these fans. According to the games, the first match we lost, even though we didn’t play badly. What is most important is that in our team there is a great atmosphere, we fight for every ball. In the second game we played better. The quality of our game was much higher and I believe that this is a good sign before the World League.

The fact that you fight for every ball, could be seen especially in the third set of the match, when you had to chase the result but in the end you won. This heart to fight is probably your biggest advantage.

– Yes, we are trying to transfer this spirit also to the all young players – there are lot of them in the team. We don’t give up, we try to do our best, to fight for every single ball, support each other. I think that is the best recipe for you to play at a high level, to play good volleyball, especially against the best teams in the world, against Poland.

The World League hit upon a very strong contenders group. What is the mood in your team?

– Everyone know that we are in a very difficult group, in which we play against some of the best teams in the world, but we don’t think about the others. We look at ourselves, on our game and we’ll do our best to beat them. And what happens? We’ll see.

The first match of the World League you play on Cuba and if you want to advance to the finals, you have to win. This NT changed a lot, there isnt’t its captain, Leon. It’ll be easier for you?

– Promotion is the aim of all the teams participating in this tournament. We know at what level play Cubans, how big is their potential. They have a lot of young players, but they are all really great. I think we’ll go there with a positive attitude and won’t give up. We’ll see what will happen.

What you need to improve in your game before WL?

– First of all, we need to train hard. Besides, I would like to see everyone in my team healthy, with no injuries. That’s the most important thing. Then, physically and technically we will be ready to play at a high level.

You’ve chose a different way than most of the Serbs and for a long time you play in the German Bundesliga. How do you assess the level of this league?

– Yeah, I play Germany for seven years. I feel very well there. Perhaps at some point it is time to change the environment, who knows? For now, I stay for another season in Friedrichshafen.

– As to the level of the league, from year to year it’s getting better. Teams get more and more sponsors, they have more money, and now we have about three or four teams which are fighting for the championship of Germany.
