There are many rumors about four main Trentino’s players and the head coach moving to Halkbank Ankara. “It’s not finite, but we can’t afford them right now” – comments the President of Trentino Volley.
The situation in the current Italian Champion is very difficult. Trentino Volley has some financial issues connected to problems with finding a main sponsor, as the President of the club, Diego Mosna, admits: “We live in a country where it is favoured to allocate public money in football, like Inter Milan or Bayern Munich. We pay two million euro in taxes per year, but it is preferred to sponsor the Germans. I am tired of begging”.
Lack of money causes problems to complete the squad and to keep in team the biggest stars. The head coach, Radostin Stoychev did not renew the contract with the Italian team and, as the President said, he is building a new roster for the Turkish Halkbank Ankara. It’s highly probable that the Bulgarian coach will be followed by Raphael and Osmany Juantorena! The situation with two other players is still blurry: “I hope Matey Kaziyski will stay, but I am afraid he is too tied to Stoychev to stay playing without a coach. From Cuneo should return Tsvetan Sokolov, but it’s not guaranteed” – said Mosna.
It is definitely a moment of stalemate for the club from Trento. What about new purchases? “We still did not determine budget for the next season. When we know who stays, then we can work on the new purchases” – commented the President.
