No time nor any points to waste for leaders of French league. While RC Cannes and their pursuers seem to clearly outrun their opponents, Nantes (currently on the 3rd position) cannot seem to space out from Paris St-Cloud, only two points behind.

Let’s have a closer look at ranking:

Veni, vidi, vici – it looks like this is the new motto French leaders are keen on after routing Istres; the hosts never set their sight on winning hope in front of unstoppable Juliann Faucette and her team mates. Cannes opposite finished the game with 15 points, almost half more than the best scorers on Istres side: Lisa Henning and Yiting Cao.

Le Cannet claimed a new victory on their side, on the court of last placed Hainaut, who are stuck on 4 points after 17 legs. Inconsistent evolution of the score, Le Cannet ceded the first act, only to claim the following three 5-25, 23-25, 15-25, thanks to the contributions of Cassidy Lichtman and Elisabeth Fedele (14 points each). Nantes scored an edged home win against rookies St-Raphaël. A hard battle for Sylvain Quinquis and his players against a team that has nothing to lose and long to take another head in LAF.

By far the so called derby of the weekend set face to face two teams who share a long history together – Mulhouse and Béziers fighting for the fifth position. Ravaged by injuries as two of starting players are missing (Romanian middle blocker Alina Albu Ilie and Bulgarian opposite Petya Tsekova), Mulhouse lost three points in front of Béziers, whom they had already beaten up in the opening of the season. This victory propels Béziers on the 5th place, while Mulhouse keep on hanging one point behind. A new straight sets victory for Paris St-Cloud who received rookies from Vannes brings the capital team the fourth place. Venelles seems to have taken things more seriously in 2015 and scored a consecutive victory against Terville; three points for Mallory Steux and her team mates which seal them a ticket to Play-offs.

For our French speaking readers, we have prepared a little surprise. Already popular in France, the so called event dedicated to ‘feminine’ sports – Les 24 heures du Sport Féminin, decided to get the help of icon player Victoria Ravva (RC Cannes) for a better promotion of volleyball and additionally female sports. Let’s catch a glimpse of how that came out: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2fgj5e_reportage-sur-victoria-ravva-redactrice-en-chef-de-l-equipe-pour-les-24h-du-sport-feminin_sport
