Several days before he turns 18, Czech Republic’s brightest young talent earns himself a spot in Volleycountry’s future stars’ profiles. Donovan has volleyball running in his veins as his father, Milan, used to be a professional beach volleyball player.

Dzavoronok Junior enjoys playing on the sand as well, but had to give up this leisure activity as he had been pursuing a career indoors. He displayed his potential at an early age and has been part of the U20 and U19 Czech national teams. Donovan is the main threat for the opponents who have to face the Czech youngsters and is quite often loaded by setters with most responsibility on the court. It is not uncommon for the outside hitter to attack more balls than the team’s opposite, to which Dzavoronok reacts greatly and always finishes among the highest scorers in any competition he has entered. Donovan helped his country to reach the 7th place at this year’s U19 European Championship in Turkey, where he finished second among scorers, and the 6th place at last year’s U20 European Championship at home.

The talented outside hitter plays for Volley Team CZU Praha in the domestic league. The club provides mostly youngsters like Dzavoronok with match time which is a perfect opportunity for the teenager. Donovan was called up in the wide roster of the men’s national team for the 2015 World League and I am sure it is just a matter of time for him to make his senior debut.
