You know that Miley Cyrus is not a volleyball star, she is famous for her songs.  I bet you don’t know about these 5 surprising things she in has common with volleyball.

1. Love the beach!

It is no surprise that somebody as effortlessly gorgeous as Miley Cyrus is a huge fan of going to the beach, especially on those hot summer days clad in a little bikini! Paparazzi are known to scout our popular beaches in Malibu and Santa Monica where celebrities are known to hangout, and Miley Cyrus is one of few they catch there! In the same way, Volleyball, although it started as an indoor only sport, soon gained recognition as a beach sport in the 1920’s.

2. Volleyball Players Jump- So Does Miley!

While Miley Cyrus, formerly Destiny Hope Cyrus, is beautiful naturally, thanks to her show stopping parents Billy Ray and Tish, it’s clear that she does some work to make sure she stays toned and in impeccable shape. Miley has been seen working out on the streets of LA and has told different magazines about her intense workout routine that has not only given her abs of steel but has her feelings great all the time! Volleyball players get the same kind of intense workout during their matches, as it is averaged they jump around 300 times per game. Talk about them calves!

3. Always the Bridesmaid, Never The Bride!

According to popular sports news websites, Volleyball is the second most popular sport in the entire world, only falling short behind its fellow co-ed opponent soccer. Miley Cyrus has been under flak recently for slowly losing her momentum. Is it true that she is no longer the most popular pop star in the world, losing her rank to Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, or Selena Gomez? I guess that’s up for you to decide, but if so, it’s another thing Miley and Volleyball share!

4. Girls girls girls!

While both Miley Cyrus’ fan club and Volleyball are open to all genders, it’s clear that they are both prone to being more feminine reaching. Rumor has it that Miley Cyrus concerts are a fun spot for young guys to find girls to flirt with, while Volleyball is one of the few sports men can stand to watch- and we all know why!

5. Small start.. then boom!

Miley Cyrus was slightly born into her popularity as her dad was renowned country music star Billy Ray Cyrus. Although her desire to sing and act was in her blood, she didn’t get her first break out role until she was 14 and it was on a Disney Channel Show! By the time she was auditioning (and winning the part!) of adult roles, she was nearly an adult with a lot of talent under her belt! Volleyball went through the same transition, as it was created around 1916 but wasn’t a recognized sport or added to the Olympic Games until around the 1960’s.
