The Argentine A1 Series champion was reinforced with two Europeans receivers seeking to defend the title that worked so hard to get, and to surprise in the South American Club Championship.

The mission of the San Juan team is ambitious. And it is understandable that the coach Fabian Armoa has strengthened its roster to give it more attack power: The rivals will be chasing his crown next season with great economic investments and top players.

Armoa hardly had time to regret Leonardo Patti, the soul of the team 2010/11 and Colombian Alexander Moreno because the season began earlier than the rest of the franchises in Argentina, due to the classification to the South American Club Championship that is carried out in Brazil with the champions of Peru, Uruguay, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile. So he persuaded the leaders to invest in two European players: Serbian Aleksandre Mitrovic and Romanian Bogdan Olteanu, from the French volleyball league. Both spikers will try to repeat the successful experience of the Czech Kamil Baranek, another important low for UPCN.

The squad that cut the string of four consecutive cups of Drean Bolívar also added two experienced local players: opposite Diego Bonini (champion in Finland and Romania) and setter Diego Bonini (played in France and Germany). Both have international matches in the national team and will provide strength and replacement to a cast that kept the two best blockers last season (Brazilian Junior and young Gustavo Molina), the strategist Demian Gonzalez and libero Sebastian Garrocq. The coach will also have two tall and youth middle blockers: Martin Ramos and Damián Villalba, from the Junior and Youth National Team, respectively.

In this way, the UPCN squad will be comprised of:

Setters: Demián González, Diego Gutiérrez y Matías Salvo
Opposites: Diego Bonini y Abel Rojas
Liberos: Sebastián Garrocq y Ernesto Nielson
Middleblockers: José Souza Junior, Gustavo Molina, Martin Ramos, Damián Villalba
Spikers: Aleksandre Mitrovic, Bogdan Olteanu, Rodrigo Peres Lopes, Heber García
Coach: Fabián Armoa
