Dinamo Moscow finally broke its sad series of failures in the Russian league, however, the event required a real sacrifice due to a contusion of Pavel Kruglov. It was an impressive rise because the capital city team beat Belogorie Belgorod in straight sets and the winner of the Cup of Russia was able to face Dinamo only in the last set. Bartosz Kurek, returning after injury, shone bright in attack and block, so he ultimately collected 16 points being the best scorer of the duel. The result in Moscow was not the only one surprise of the 17th leg, for Zenit Kazan and Lokomotiv Novosibirsk included slip-ups.
