After beating Skra Belchatow and Delecta Bydgoszcz, Resovia had one more opponent along the way – Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle. Yesterday Rzeszow finished this long battle with golden win and became the champion one more time.

As we said before, the history of this final had many twists and was basically unpredictable. The first part of this last game was the most exciting one, and it’s safe to say – it set up the entire meeting. Zaksa was leading all the way through and Resovia kept chasing them. In the end, referee closed that part for Zaksa, but Rzeszow asked for challenge and both teams had to go back on court. Zaksa got two chances to finish this chapter, but it was Resovia Rzeszow winning this time.
On the second set Zaksa showed the real quality of their game and beat Rzeszow 24:14, but (speaking about phoenixes again…) guests did not say their last word just yet. Zaksa went back to making many mistakes and also Antonin Rouzier didn’t have his greatest day. Last two sets of this season were won smoothly by the old and at the same time – new Polish champion, Asseco Resovia Rzeszow.

Zaksa Kedzierzyn Kozle – Resovia Rzeszow 1:3 (26:28, 25:14, 17:25, 19:25)
MVP: Olieg Achrem
