Despite the international season is in progress, volleyball agents still acts, hence, after a short break “Weekly Prophet” gets back on track with interesting trades report and spectacular prophecies.

Serie A worse and worse. A tycoon will be pulled down?

The year 2008, the U.S. bank Lehman’s Brothers is on the verge of bankruptcy and finally fell in. Italy is still a promised-land for volleyball players, but the world gradually mires in a global recession and more and more volleyball teams fall into trouble or are sometimes even no more.

In these days, Trentino Volley just launches its supremacy in Italy and spread it to the whole world achieving Scudetto three times, Cup of Italy trice, Super Cup, and Champions League also three times and Club World Championships four times in a row. However, all good things come to an end and Trentino Volley also began to feel the effects of the financial crisis, and perhaps it was the last so successful season of the inhabitants of eastern Alps.

A few weeks ago, the club president, Diego Mosna, announced  the upcoming crunch, as the result, claimed that he is going to abdicate of the post. Foreign teams managers immediately reacted hoping to buy one of Trentino Volley’s stars. Especially, Turks rushed like a pack of wolves on a wounded deer, hence you can anticipate at least one hitherto player of Trentino will move to the Bosphorus. However ,it is rather an optimistic scenario for Italian ‘tifosi’ because they should expect much more significant losses.

It is said that Matey Kaziyski and Raphael are on the right track to be signed by Halkbank Ankara while Mitar Djuric is close to get agreement with Bre Banca Cuneo and play as the opposite at Nikola Grbic’s side. What is more, Osmany Juantorena, the brightest star of Trentino, could also follow in Kaziyski and Raphael footsteps, but there is one willing team to employ the Cuban with Italian citizenship. It is about Zenit Kazan, unrealized club of Juanterona one year ago, which is still looking for a new highest-class receiver.

Raphael Vieira de Oliveira may be substituted by Manuel Coscione recently Vibo Valentia. There were gossips that Coscione will be getting to CMC Ravenna, but this team decided to use the services of Benjamin Toniutti, therefore, Coscione is still a free agent.

As other Italian clubs cannot afford to compete for the best players with Russia’s, Turkey’s ,and Poland’s opponents, they have to build up their squads based on internal migration so that avoid overpaying. Hence, Copra Piacenza engaged one of the most promising young generation player in the Apennine peninsula Denis Kaliberda of Germany from Vibo Valentia. Thomas Beretta, a middle-blocker dressing up the ‘Azzurro’ t-shirt in World League, changed Verona to Modena while a former national team ‘center’, Luigi Mastrangelo, was taken by Vibo Valentia.

There is also an almost historical info from Serie A. Wout Wijsmans left Bre Banca Cuneo and finishes off his fourteen years adventure with Seria A. The Belgium moves to Beijing BAIC Motors Club (China).

Zenit Kazan relies on veterans.

Sometimes when a team suffers severe losses, there appear some voices about rejuvenation squads. Zenit Kazan and the head-coach Vladimir Alekno have chosen quite opposite variant and brought two experienced, but still efficient characters. One of the tallest middle-blockers in the world, Aleksey Kazakov (ex Ural Ufa) strengthens competition for positions 3 or 6 while famous Roman Yakovlev (ex Dinamo Krasnodar) will take care of attack force in the absence of Maxim Mikhaylov.

The vice-champion of Russia, Ural Ufa, after initial turbulences started to construct a new team’s stem. A spot after a showman Alexey Spiridonov, who has chosen an offer of Fakel Novy Urengoy, will be completed by Bjorn Andrae (Kuzbass Kemerovo) and reinforced by Nikola Kovacevic (Resovia Rzeszow). Ural also took Gregory Afinogenov (receiver), Andrey Ananev of Dinamo Moscow, Dmitry Kirichenko of Yaroslavich Yaroslavl ,and Leonid Kuznetsov of Belgorod Belogorie.

Directly from Pro B for the championship?

It seems that the brand new French Pro A member ASUL Lyon Volley has big even masterful ambitions. Not only did they employ an outstanding coach Silvano Prandi, they also reached out two Bulgarian, who spent the last season in Galatasaray Istanbul – opposite Vladimir Nikolov and libero Teodor Salparov. Furthermore, Lyon’s activists signed a contract with Simon Tischer. The setter of Germany played in Jastrzebski Wegiel (Poland) last season being  highly rated.

‘’Albicelestes’’ conquer PlusLiga.

After arriving to PGE Skra Belchatow Facundo Conte and Nicolas Uriarte, another Argentines  takes this direction . At first, AZS UWM Olsztyn engaged the most valuable player of Argentinean league and Club Champion of South America Pablo Bengolea from UPCN Volley Club and now perhaps, Federico Pereyra is going to join Effector Kielce.

The aforementioned PGE Skra Belchatow completed receivers kit signing a Frenchman Samuel Tuia, who convinced the new coach of Skra Miguel Falasca by good shape in Russia (Kuzbass Kemerovo) and he is going to stay in Poland at least 2 years.

ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle bought Grzegorz Bociek, an opposite of AZS Czestochowa,  and still tries to get rid of Antonin Rouzier, who did not come up to expectations last season.

A Challenge Cup participant, Politechnika Warszawska, gave Krzysztof Wierzbowski and Maciej Zajder away to Lotos Trefl Gdansk, but linked up a former VFB Friedrichshafen’s pair Juraj Zatko (setter, VFB Friedrichshafen) and Adrian Radu Gontariu (opposite, Tomis Constanta). Jakub Jarosz (ex Andreoli Latina) and Robert Milczarek (ex Effector Kielce) accepted offers from Lotos Gdansk.

As early as this week, you will be able to discover and analyze all transfers in Russia, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Brazil, Germany, France, and Belgium  following the summary in the shape of another ‘magic table’.
