Very interesting!
This is how I could describe the start of the pools A and B the past weekend in the FIVB World Volleyball League. Not all the big stars took part in the beginning but the ones who did perfomerd at the high level expected.
Taking into account that the professional leagues ended a month ago, we can understand that players like Muserskiy, Grankin (Russia), Lee, Lotman (USA), Wlazly, Winiarski (Poland), Sidao (Brasil), Ivan Zaytsev (Italy) among others couldn’t play on this first weekend. On the other hand, Bruno & Bernardo Rezende – Coach (Brasil) were suspended by FIVB.
It was a great positive surprise to see again thePoland Big Star Bartosz Kurek on the court who definitely will give the Polish Team a great support in their Gold aspirations. Aaron Russell from the USA also impressed us by adding 30 points in two games for the Americans against Iran.
Italy Leads Pool A with 6 Points, followed by Brazil with 5. Serbia had a point and Australia 0. In Pool B, same story with USA leading with one point. Russia gained one point and Iran got no points and from our point of view, they didn’t shine.
Pools C, D & E looks interesting as well with Belgium, Canada and France leading respectively with 10, 10 and 6 points.
There’s a couple of interesting games in Pool’s A & B this week when Russia travel to Long Beach, California to meet USA Team and Iran visit the World Champs in Poland.
My predictions for this weekend are:
Brazil, Italy, Poland, USA, Belgium & Canada should maintain their winning path.
