The captain of Copra Elior (Piacenza) Hristo Zlatanov is well known in the volleyball world. This time Zlaty broke another record.

The former player of Scuadra Azzura is the first volleyball player in the Italian volleyball to have made more than 9000 points since computer stats is made.

In the game of the 18th leg in SerieA1 between Copra Elior (Piacenza) and Andreoli (Latina) the Bulgarian made 11points. Except the fact that Zlatanov made a record, he was also chosen for MVP of the game. The hosts from Piacenza took the win by 3:0 (25:22; 25:15; 26:24).

This was their 9th consecutive success in the Inner Championship.

Few days before breaking the record Hristo Zlatanov gave an interview for www.sportpiacenza.it.

He shared that he will invite the whole team of Piacenza to a special dinner when he made more than 9000pts. “I won’t hide myself. To me this is all pleasure. These are numbers, results and achievments that give a kind of pleasure. But they also stay in statistics, because we have to go out on the volleyball field and win the games. Volleyball is not tennis, this is a collective sport. So, 9000 points could mean a lot, but also a bit.

But who is Hristo Zlatanov?

Hristo was born on 21th of April 1976 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He is son of the legendary Bulgarian volleyball player Dimitar Zlatanov. The father of Zlaty is the only Bulgarian player to be accepted in the Volleyball hall of Fame.

In a special interview for bTV before one year Zlatanov shared what exactly happened. Something, that many of the Bulgarian fans could be sorry for. Actually nobody ever has searched Hristo for joing the Bulgarian NT. On the other hand, Zlatanov told that he comes back every year to Bulgaria and is trying to talk to his kids in Bulgaria.
