Piacenza is leading in the final series 2-1. In the third game Piacenza won in Trentino where nobody could win for more than two years.
The third of the final series was the game of the first times: For the first time, Piacenza goes ahead in a league final, this never happened in the four previous finals. Piacenza managed to do so by winning in Trento which had lost for the first time at home since the 15th of October 2006. Now the dream of a whole city could become reality as Piacenza has two opportunities to win the title. For the first time, Trentino lost at home in the playoffs and this is the first time Grbic and co lose a tie-break too.
Matey Kaziyski (Itas Diatec Trentino): “We really struggled in this game as well. I had a poor game. Sometimes I was doing OK but then… I want to get back to my best performance to help the team. Compared to game 2, our reception was better but we must still improve. Game 4 will be very tough but we have to win it”.
Leonell Marshall (Copra Nordmeccanica Piacenza): “We played with heart and with our heads and that paid off with this result. We haven’t won anything yet and we shouldn’t forget this. They will come in Piacenza to tie the series”.
